N.B.: “Approved by the Music Department” generally means the instructor of record for the recital course (i.e. the full-time faculty member over that instrument/area).

  • A preview of the recital is required two weeks before the recital presentation. The private teacher and two other faculty members will evaluate the preview. They will determine whether the recital can proceed or be postponed. The faculty panel will also evaluate the recital performance for credit.
  • The student recitalist should book the Concert Hall with Department administrative assistant the semester before it is presented. The recitalist is required to submit program information to the administrative assistant two weeks in advance.
  • The recital is sponsored by the Music Department and is performed as a culmination experience in MUSC 3890 (Junior Recital), MUSC 4880 (Music Education Recital) or MUSC 4890 (Senior Recital). The department staff prepares printed programs.
